Commandant Bruce A. L. Hallam
Bruce A. L. Hallam was elected the 2019-2020 National Navy Club USA Commandant in June at the 82nd National Convention.
He is a Past Illinois Squadron Commander in 2015-2016 & 2016-2017. He is a Past Commander of Sangamon Ship #32 out of Springfield.
Bruce is a 20-year U. S. Navy Veteran. He served as a Training and Administration of Reserves (TAR). He was classified as a HT1 (SW) Hull Maintenance Technician-Surface Warfare. He specialized in Pipe-fitting and welding. He became an NDT Inspector with the qualifications of; (RT) Gamma Radiation Technician and X-Ray of welds, (UT) Ultrasonic Technician, and (PT) Liquid Penetration Technician.
Bruce served from 1978 – 1998. HT1 (SW) Hallam served onboard the USS Yellowstone AD-41(Norfolk). The USS W.S. Simms FF-1059(Mayport). The USS Flatley FFG-21(Mayport). He was stationed at Norfolk Va.; Decatur Il.; Philadelphia Pa.; Mayport Fl.; and retired out of Ingleside Tx.
Bruce is a retired Union Plumber/Pipefitter/Welder from Local #137 Springfield Il. He currently works for the US Department of Labor-Office of Apprenticeship in Springfield Il.
Bruce and his wife Jan, have been married 36 years. They reside in Springfield, Il. They have two daughters: Marissa (Josh) Ashbaugh & Emma Hallam (Nathan) Franklin and three grandchildren, Ainsley Ashbaugh, Sylas Franklin & Bennox Franklin.
